Falcon Girls Lose To League Leader Norton 59-20

On Saturday, the Falcon girls went to Norton, but left their offense at home.  They scored only four field goals in losing to the Panthers 59-20.  Field dropped to 3-10 on the year.  The Mogadore girls went to Lake Center Christian and prevailed 55-41, raising their record to 8-6.  Erika Johnson scored 20 points for the Wildcats. The Falcon boys played well enough to win on Friday evening, but just couldn't get that final gust of steam to get past the Norton Panthers.  The visiting Panthers won 69-58 in a game similar to their first match up (56-46) with Field in December.  Andrew Johnson scored 20 points and Caleb Francis had 16.  Taylor Warner led Norton with 21 points, all on seven three pointers.  The Falcons dropped to 3-4 in league and 5-8 overall, while Norton remains undefeated in the PTC-Metro Division with a 7-0 record and 10-2 overall.  Also on Friday evening the Mogadore boys went to Hartville and beat the Tigers of Lake Central Christian School 66-60 behind 24 points by Lukas Swartz.  The Wildcats are 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the PTC-County Division.  The Field and Mogadore boys play each other on Tuesday January 23rd at Mogadore.    .....   Click here to see the schedules and scores.

Wingfoot Lake State Park is Suffield's only park.   It was opened by the Ohio State Parks & Recreation Department in 2009.  Goodyear had operated the park since the 1960's as a private playground for its employees and for corporate retreats.  As the company footprint grew smaller in the Akron area Goodyear decided to close the park in 2006.  To learn more about the park, such as rental of the facilities, visit the park's website:  http://parks.ohiodnr.gov/wingfootlake
