As of July 26th, the much awaited repaving of Mishler Road is about a month away. Mike Collins of the Portage County Engineer's Office said that the bids have been received and reviewed and that the County Commissioners will be awarding a contract, probably next week, for this work. Collins said that work would likely begin near the end of August and would likely take about seven days to complete. This is good news to the thousands of motorists that use this road daily.
Board of Zoning Appeals Okays Waterloo Road Variance
The Suffield Township Board of Zoning Appeals, meeting for only the second time this year, heard Michael Walker's request for a variance to build a 32' by 40' pole building on one of his six lots. The Board struggled with their decision, but ended by voting 5-0 to allow Walker to build his accessory building on his lot at 1455 Waterloo Road.
Congress Lake Road Variance Approved
The Suffield Township Board of Zoning Appeals voted 5-0 to allow resident David Stormer of 1153 Congress Lake Road to build a 1728 square foot pole building on his 1.63 acre property. The pole building is larger than the Zoning Resolution rules allow.

License Plate Renewals
When buying new license plates, or renewing them, be sure the registrar at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles knows that you live in Suffield Township. If you simply state your address as Mogadore, the road tax funds, which should go to SuffieldTownship, will go to Mogadore Village, due to your zip code. Keep your tax money in the township!

Senior Lunches Available
The Family and Community Services of Portage County in conjunction with the Suffield United Church of Christ offer lunches to Seniors at the church Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. Lunch requires a donation and must be ordered one week in advance by calling Beverly Miller at 330-877-3965.
Suffield Township Website Has 140,000 Visitors Since April 1, 2015
As of July 31, 2017, Suffield Township's website had 140,000 visitors since April 1, 2015. Since the "new" website was adopted, the daily viewership has risen from about 40 per day to over 211 per day. Thanks for taking a look at "suffieldtownshipohio.com". Tell your friends about us.
Wingfoot Lake State Park is Suffield's only park. It was opened by the Ohio State Parks & Recreation Department in 2009. Goodyear had operated the park since the 1960's as a private playground for its employees and for corporate retreats. As the company footprint grew smaller in the Akron area Goodyear decided to close the park in 2006.
